Total-THC Testing States

A growing set of states define legal hemp by total THC — Δ9 plus THCA × 0.877 — rather than Δ9 alone. In those states, high-THCA flower is simply illegal cannabis regardless of its Δ9 reading, and the “it’s federally legal hemp” argument does not survive contact with the state statute. This is the single most consequential thing to know before ordering: the same jar can be a lawful purchase in one state and contraband one state over.
