What the dispensary price buys is mandated, state-audited testing and a regulated chain of custody; the hemp route replaces that apparatus with exactly one document, the vendor’s COA, which is why our reviews obsess over it. In total-THC states the comparison is moot (the hemp route is not lawful), and after December 11, 2026 the federal ban closes it everywhere.
